Real success comes from doing less
and becoming more.
Somehow I feel that this is another one of those entities in life
that we tend to get backwards. We spend countless years attempting to do and accomplish an extensive variety of tasks that in the end
are not really important.
I call these the urgent unnecessary.
This covers things like effort spent on activity born out of group or mass stupidity, or life time wasted watching ignorance, cruelty or hate because it is popular. It seems that we spend much of our short lives forcing ourselves to do more and more while becoming less and less--simply because everyone is doing it, or acting a certain way, or buying a particular item, or….you know what I mean.
We used to do this in high school, but now immaturity seems to have spread nation-wide. And along the way we have screwed up our priorities, lost our love of natural beauty, and our respect for character and each other.
Yes, it bothers me that:
--some people in Congress want more money for seemingly doing nothing positive.
--the disparity between rich and poor is so extreme, it’s disgusting.
--respect for all of life and each individual is missing.
--real, serious issues in daily living are ignored by those who are sent to represent us.
--our heroes are only seen in the sports or entertainment fields.
--individuals and the media promote negativity and violence rather than positive goodness.
--we tend to use and manipulate people and love the latest digital thing.
--we are destroying our environment because of greed.
Etc.
My heroes will always be my Mother and Father who did their best to teach ten children the importance of integrity, compassion, faith, and love. Now there’s something that would make America great again…
What do you think?
and becoming more.
