From My Perspective

"We always have the choice of bringing light or darkness to another person."

"To Be or Not to Be...

Ok, let’s take a look at this….why do I procrastinate? Why do I always find little unimportant things to do when I know there are higher priorities? Of course, part of it could be fear of failure or fear of success. But that’s too easy a diagnosis.

Maybe procrastination is part of that ego thing that at this point in life should be well on its’ way to oblivion. I think I am beyond the need for recognition, status, ambition and power. And after all, I can only accumulate so much stuff.

You see, I really believe that ultimate growth as a human being involves simplification and shedding; an emptying of superficiality and other unloving stuff.

Ah, there’s the problem. If I really start to turn my life into one of simplicity and meaning, then I would have time to be aware; to reach out, to create, to share and even care.

I know you may be thinking: This is silly. Of course, you care. We all do deep down.

But do I really care consistently? …..or only when it is convenient…..or only when I am reminded by a heart wrenching story. Maybe I care enough to do something good only when it is easy.

But then, maybe procrastination is simply easier than caring---
and fools me with its good intentions.

Have you ever wondered about this in your own life?
