I am fond of saying that much of life exists on a continuum.
For example, most behavior occurs in a grey area rather then black or white. (And I'm not referring to those "shades of grey")
But most of what we do, feel, buy, experience, etc. has different degrees of quality. Too often, we tend to go for lesser, automatic, or superficial quality in our relationships. And our behavior ends up being dictated by things like commercialism.
Wouldn't it be nice if on Valentine's Day and on a regular basis, someone who loved us would let us know directly how much they care or how much they appreciate us? And wouldn't it be nice if they could do this face to face without a smartphone, or texting, or through greeting card words made by others, flowers or candy purchased by rote, etc.?
Genuine love expressed with sincerity--another one of God's gifts that we tend to hide....
